Kin is an 2018 American science fiction action film directed by Jonathan and Josh Baker and written by Daniel Casey and starring Myles Truitt, Jack Reynor, Zoë Kravitz, Carrie Coon, Dennis Quaid, and James Franco. The film is set to be released by Summit Entertainment on August 31, 2018.[1]

Plot[]

A released ex-con and his younger brother, who are forced to go on the run from a crime boss after the ex-con fails to pay him back, and a pair of otherworldly soldiers. They have to defend themselves by using a mysterious weapon of an unknown origin, that the soldiers want back.[2]

There is thought to be a sequel upcoming, due to the ending.

On August 30, 2016, it was announced that Myles Truitt, Jack Reynor, James Franco, Zoë Kravitz, and Dennis Quaid will star in Kin, a feature film directed by Jonathan and Josh Baker. The film is based on the short film Bag Man, which was also written and directed by the Baker brothers..[2]

In September 2016, Lionsgate bought the film rights to Kin for about $30 million at the Toronto Film Festival. Filming began on October 24, 2016 in Toronto.

Music[]

Mogwai have composed the score for the film, creating an eerie and beautifully haunting experience.

The film was released by Summit Entertainment on August 31, 2018.[1]
